Egyptian Minister of Industry and Trade Tarek Kabil said that the international company SC Johnson, a manufacturer of household cleaning supplies, studies expansion of its operations in the Egyptian market, which will serve as a commercial and logistic hub of the company’s products to other African markets, according to a statement released by the ministry on Saturday.

Herbert Fisk Johnson, CEO and chairperson of SC Johnson, has met with Kabil, where they discussed the company’s projects in Egypt and the expansion plans of the company in the local market in the coming period, in the presence of Salman Amin, operations manager at the company.

The minister pointed out that the free-trade agreements between Egypt and a large number of countries and major economic blocs in the African continent encouraged the company to expand its production in the Egyptian market.

The company has operations in more than 70 countries around the world and employs more than 13,000 workers. SC Johnson has been operating a number of factories in Egypt for more than 34 years, according to Fisk.
