FilKhedma, a company that specialises in providing reliable technicians for household repairs through its website, is getting ready to attract new investments estimated at EGP 12-15m this year. The CEO of the company, Omar Ramadan, said the company also aims to increase the number of its services to nine within the coming two months.

Ramadan said that the website currently provides seven services, such as plumbing, electricity repairs, carpentry, and painting. The website aims to launch two new services within the coming two months, namely repairing refrigerators and stoves.

Ramadan added that the website serves two thirds of Cairo, with plans to cover the whole of Greater Cairo by the end of the year. He noted that the website has begun contracting with a number of restaurants and large corporations.

Ramadan explained that he is negotiating with several investors to attract new investments to the company. He expressed his hope to attract EGP 12-15m throughout the year to help the website expand and develop. He pointed out that while the company will retain the controlling share, he is offering a stake for sale.

He noted that the website is currently serving 6,000 clients and plans to double the figure by the end of the year.

Moreover, Ramadan said that the website has 20 technicians in different fields but plans to increase that number to 100 towards the end of 2017.

He pointed out that the site provides monthly salaries for craftsmen.

As for the challenges facing the team, Ramadan said that the low demand on services—which he attributed to the current economic conditions that lowered purchasing power and increased prices—along with the difficulty of attracting new clients are the main challenges. He added that the company’s business is expected to see growth during the summer.

He pointed out that the competition is fierce, noting that the website is distinguished for providing high-quality services at affordable prices, as well as employing verified craftspeople.
