Banks take to various parts of country during Financial Inclusion Week

The banks operating in Egypt have initiated the activities of the Financial Inclusion Week on Thursday, extending through to Wednesday 3 May, in accordance with the Central Bank of Egypt’s (CBE) directives in this regard.

Thursday 27 April of each year has been marked by the Council of Arab Central Banks Governors and Arab Financial Institutions as the Arab Day for Financial Inclusion.

The banks’ events on the first day of Financial Inclusion Week included spreading in gathering areas at universities, government departments, recreational clubs, and markets.

Banks put up banners for the events, bearing the slogans of the Arab Week for Financial Inclusion and the Central Bank of Egypt in all their branches. They also printed flyers about financial inclusion and distributed them among the public and employees of the financial sector. Some banks also sent text messages to clients of telecommunications companies.

Bank staff spread in various parts of the republic to promote the services provided by their banks and educate citizens about the importance of financial inclusion to encourage them to open bank accounts with no charges and no minimum balance.
