Egypt Automotive and Shell Oil prepare to launch the first Ramadan football tournament for the Egyptian automobile sector, which will start on 7 Ramadan at the Olympic Stadium in Maadi.
For the first time, 16 teams from different car companies will meet to compete for three weeks at the Shell-Automotive tournament, Mohamed Aboul Fotouh, CEO of Egypt Automotive, said.
He added that the championship comes in the framework of Egypt Automotive and Shell Oil’s keenness to communicate with all employees in the Egyptian automotive sector and create new competitiveness among employees.
The new tournament comes within the strategic partnership between the two companies, as Shell Oil is the main sponsor of the annual conference of the automotive industry in Egypt, which is held every December and is organised by Egypt Automotive.
The participating teams include Shell, Egypt Automotive, Brilliance, Ford, Volkswagen, Nissan Egypt, Skoda, Sang Yong, Renault, BMW, Range Rover, Jaguar, Abu Hitta, and Nissan Africa, as well as various teams from media outlets.
The tournament consists of four groups. Each group consists of four teams, which compete to win the first and second place of each group, which will be determined through a public draw. Egypt Automotive has organised the annual car industry conference since 2013 and is currently preparing for the fourth edition of the conference in December 2017.
