Minister of Trade and Industry Tarek Kabil said that the transfer and installation of the ten factories in Al Robeiki Leather City that were transported in the first phase of the process is currently being completed, noting that some factories have fully completed the installation of tanning drums and equipment.
Kabil added that the factories’ operation test will begin in the next few days, pointing out that the announcement by President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi that the state will bear all the expenses of the transport process will contribute to the rapid transfer of tanneries to the new city.
During the tour, Kabil visited Robeiki Leather City, where he inspected the equipment that is to be delivered to the factories and followed up on the supply of the plants with machines and equipment, whether new or transferred from the old site—Magra Al-Oyoun, Cairo.
The minister held an extensive meeting with the owners of ten factories transferred from Magra Al-Oyoun to Robeiki Leather City, stressing the importance of expediting the completion of the installation of equipment as well as completing the delivery of relevant related services, such as gas, water, electricity, and communications infrastructure.
The ministry’s agencies will assist the producers in completing the procedures related to these services.
Kabil pointed out that the next phase will see the start of procedures for the transfer of the second batch of Magra Al-Oyoun’s factories to the new city. The minister directed officials to handle all matters related to the processing of concrete bases in preparation for the installation of equipment.
