The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (CIT) has provided training programmes as part of the presidential initiative for e-learning, known as the Pioneers of Future Technology, with a full 100% subsidy for all target groups of the initiative.

This came during the last meeting of the board of directors of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) in the presence of Minister of Communication and Information Technology Yasser Al-Qadi.

During the meeting, the board approved a proposal to provide grant programmes to all CIT and electronics specialists in various sectors and in various profit and non-profit organisations, not only CIT professionals.

The programmes of the initiative benefit university students in the third and fourth years, as well as graduates since 2006, including those working in the sector or job seekers and faculty members from the faculties of computers, information, and engineering.

ITIDA CEO, Asmaa Hosni, said that registration for the presidential initiative can be done via the website.

According to the statistics of ITIDA’s Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre, the interests of trainees and participants in the initiative were focused on the development of mobile applications on the Android operating system, as well as website creation and development, digital marketing, and information security.

Preliminary indicators of the initiative indicated that some 700 trainees from 20 governorates have applied for the training, which is done through several international platforms, such as Cousera, Edx, and Udacity.

The training programmes of the initiative are in the form of 25 training courses. Most of them extend over six months. They include topics of artificial intelligence, data analysis, software development, embedded systems—such as Internet and cloud computing—and information security, as well as training programmes in strategic planning and entrepreneurship.
