The Ministry of Finance has agreed to extend the payment period of the real estate tax to the end of June instead of mid-June without collecting interest for the delay, in a response to the request of taxpayers, according to Samia Hussein, head of the Real Estate Tax Authority (RTA).

Hussein stated that Amr El Monayer, deputy finance minister of tax policies, has agreed to extend the deadline to facilitate the payment for payers and collect the dues of the public treasury with ease.

Moreover, El Monayer agreed to allow owners of residential units in remote and coastal areas, including the North Coast, Matrouh, Alexandria, Suez, and Ain Sokhna, to make their payments in the headquarters of the RTA located in Cairo’s Lazoghly district without adding any additional interests. He said that the RTA opens its doors all days of the week until 6.00pm.

For her part, Hussein called on owners of residential units to make tax payments for their units in the missions headquarters, which is affiliated to the authority, during the specified time to avoid any additional interest charges.
