The agreement was signed between Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Tarek Kabil and his Jordanian counterpart Yarub Qudahon.

This agreement is aimed at the development of joint cooperation between the “Small and Micro Enterprise Development Agency” and the “Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation” in the areas of initiating and developing small and medium enterprises and microenterprises and encouraging economic activity and investment cooperation between Egypt and the Kingdom of Jordan, said Kabil.

Kabil added that the development of small and medium enterprises and microenterprises are the top priorities of the strategy launched by the ministry to promote industrial development and foreign trade for 2020.

Moreover, the agreement aims to lay the foundations for cooperation in the development and coordination of the economic environment and promote the entrepreneurial culture into economic projects of the organisation through education, guidance, training, and finance, in addition to the strengthening of cooperation between the parties on the substantive and technical exchanges and cooperation.

This agreement represents an important step toward deepening the joint relations and integration between Jordan and Egypt, especially since the small and medium-sized projects represent a key element in the structure of the economy of the two countries, said Qudah, pointing out that the agreement would contribute to the promotion and development of emerging institutions, pioneering and providing support to strengthen their competitiveness through the focus on innovation and technological components of this type of facility.
