Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi met Monday with a number of candidates eligible for an ambassador position. Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry attended the meeting.
The president asserted the importance of the role of Egyptian diplomacy in reflecting “the civilised image of Egypt and defends the Egyptian interests abroad,” a presidential statement read.
He called on the candidates to bear in mind “transferring the true image of what is happening in Egypt” and the efforts of implementing economic reform, development, and efforts to attract foreign investments.
Al-Sisi further reviewed Egypt’s foreign policy, which seeks to establish its regional position and boost relations with international powers. The president stressed upon his vision in working with the international community to combat terrorism.
