The Ministry of Antiquities expects that the number of visitors to archaeological sites to reach 10 million, which will realize revenue of EGP 377m in the current fiscal year.
Sumaya Benyamin, head of finance at the Ministry of Antiquities, refused to disclose any details about the investment plan during the current fiscal year and the target of revenue.
According to previous statements by Benyamin, the average revenues of the ministry of the sale of tickets to archaeological sites on the national level ranged between EGP 21-22m per month, which adds up to EGP 110m between January and May 2016.
According to the latest figures released by the Ministry of Antiquities, the total annual revenues recorded in 2014 reached EGP 229.8m.
