Far away from Egypt’s centralism, young passionate talents of Upper Egypt curve their path to fame in order to show the world their hidden talents that would have found a way to breath without the help of Jesuit Film Festival. For four years, the festival has been the only window for Upper Egypt’s cinematic talents who seek a form to develop their talents and produce their own films.
In its fourth edition, the festival kicks off with documentaries workshops in three cities in Upper Egypt: Nuba, Sohag and Minya.
Jesuit Film Festival is an annual festival organized by El-Nahda Association for Cultural and Scientific Renaissance (Jesuit-Cairo) in Egypt. It is a non-profit cultural-cinematic event held every year in Cairo and other governorates in Upper Egypt aiming to support young talents of Upper Egypt as well as to develop people’s culture and awareness towards art.
This year, starting from September 9, the festival will organize workshops to teach participants the art of creating a documentary. On the hands of documentary director, Hala Galal, people of Upper Egypt cities to be taught of documentaries pre and post production as well as editing the idea and directing it.
The tour, which will start with Nuba and follows to the other two cities, will also include screening of the festival’s previous productions. Moreover, it’ll witness dialogues with the festival’s previous participants whom won its awards.
In Suhag, documentary director Adham El-Safaty to teach participants the details of making a successful, well informative documentaries in the period of September 25 to October 9.
The final production of the workshops to be screened in Cairo and Alexandria, and from which the best film to be awarded.
