Allocating a window for women investors at Investors Service Centre, says Nasr

Minister of Investment and International Cooperation, Sahar Nasr and Maya Morsi, head of the women National Council, agreed on coordination with the international financial institutions to support the economic empowerment of women and to set up a window for business women at the Investors Service Centre.

They also discussed, increasing coordination and cooperation during the coming period, according to Nasr.

The two sides discussed arrangements for the organization of the Women’s Economic Empowerment Forum, which will be headed by the Minister and organized by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in cooperation with the National Council for Women.

The agenda of the Forum includes a number of topics that will discuss the economic empowerment of women in Egypt and the Middle East as part of the OECD’s intention to launch a new report on the empowerment of women in this field.

In the same context the minister stressed that the ministry puts supporting women investors and small entrepreneurs as a top priority.

Also by increasing development projects support across all governorates of Egypt for the bread winner women in the most needy areas and by allocating about 50% of grants to women.

She added that allocating about 50% of grants for women contributes in both her economic and social empowerment, also it provides women with gender equality opportunities in the labour market.

She stressed that it is being implemented in collaboration with with a number of international financial institutions, including USAID,  UNFPA and UNDP.
