According to Asmaa Hosny, the chairperson of ITIDA, the agency is working on reaching a bilateral agreement with the company with the aim of enhancing the competitive ability of the two parties, as well as helping Egyptian youth develop their skills especially in the highly specialised fields of marine cable engineering.

She pointed out that the agreement with the company includes strengthening cooperation in the joint research fields and the Egyptian technology centres as well as copying the latest technologies in data centres industry and the various infrastructure technologies.

She explained that the agreement includes placing Egypt on the map of the data centre industry in cooperation with the company through optimal utilisation of the strategic location of the country. It also includes taking part in all major conferences and events in the industry and raising the Egyptian flag and the agency’s slogan on all the headquarters of the company’s data centres across the world, starting with the headquarters in the Finnish city of Oulu and the technological area in Borg El-Arab.

For his part, Khaled Sidrak, the founder and CEO of the company, said during his visit with a number of executive directors to the headquarters of ITIDA that the company is currently considering a large number of investment opportunities in the Egyptian technology field in cooperation with ITIDA.

Sidrak believes that the investment climate in Egypt is good and attractive. He expressed his admiration for the work of the agency and the proficiency in all promotional materials in the Egyptian information technology sector. He also expressed the desire of his company to generalise the model of investment incentives and apply it to all the deals of his companies with his other global companies.

A delegation from the agency went on an official visit last week to the headquarters of NxtVn and its strategic partners in the Netherlands and Finland to learn about the nature of the work of these companies closely and to study the new technologies they offer. The visit also aims to add the final touches of the executive steps that will contribute to improving cooperation between the two parties and to creating communication channels with the company’s main partners.
