The political party Future of Nation have officially adopted a campaign supporting the rerunning of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi for another presidential term.
The campaign named Alshan Tebneha (For you to build it), has announced that it already has headquarters in 13 governorates. The campaign has a petition to be signed by potential member or volunteers. The petition reads, “So we can clear it out of terrorism; so we can maintain out leadership; so we can complete our projects; so we can educate our children; so we can counter corruption, therefore I hereby demand to the rerunning of president Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi for another presidential term.”
The campaign named achievements during the reign of Al-Sisi such as “the new Suez Canal, new network of roads, the rise of economic growth to 5.6%, decline of the budget deficit to 10.5%, the rise of the Egypt’s credit rate, offering 260,000 job opportunities, the construction of 67,000 residential units, regaining Egypt’s membership in the African Union, Egypt’s membership in the Security council, securing military deals with France, China, and Russia.”
The party declared that out of its belief in “national cooperation… the part decided to join the campaign and opening its headquarters for the activities.”
Future of Nation has been a supportive of every social, diplomatic, and security decisions the presidency takes since Al-Sisi was sworn in office. Most of the party’s critical statement are directed to apparatus in charge of education, health, and local affairs, but never attempt to questions policies made by defence, security, diplomatic, and intelligence bodies.
The pro-government party was formed after the 25 January Revolution and was founded by businessmen. It ranked second during parliamentary elections after the Free Egyptians Party (FEP) with nearly 50 members winning seats in the parliament.
President-elect Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi took the oath-of-office before the Supreme Constitutional Court (SCC) on June 2014, beginning his four year presidency.
Following the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013, then Minister of Defence Al-Sisi had announced a transitional roadmap. The first step was the passing of a new constitution in January, followed by presidential elections. Parliamentary elections are expected in six months.
The presidential election results were announced on 3 June 2014, with Al-Sisi winning 96.9% of valid votes, beating his only contender, Nasserist politician Hamdeen Sabahy.
Next year, an elections is expected to take place. However, no candidates have officially announced that they will run for the presidency.
