Telecom Egypt re-priced some land-line telephone services and adjusted the monthly subscription starting from the October bill, which was issued mid-month.
An official at Telecom Egypt stated that the value of the land-line subscription has been adjusted to EGP 15 per month instead of EGP 12, an increase of EGP 3 per month.
Nevertheless, the total amount paid by the subscribers in the bill, which is issued every three months, is EGP 45 instead of EGP 36, in addition to 50 minutes received by the customer per month for free.
The value of contracting on a new land-line has also been adjusted to EGP 60, excluding tax and stamp, including a 3 month subscription of EGP 45, LE 10 for installation, EGP 5 for administrative expenses, EGP 6.10 for stamp duty and value added tax (VAT).
The source justified the increase due to the increase in operating costs as a result of exchange rate liberalization. Telecom Egypt recently launched its fourth mobile network, which was officially launched by the company on Tuesday 19 September.
The price of the “WE” line is EGP 15, and these lines are sold at both Telecom Egypt and TE data branches among the republic. The citizen who has the desire to purchase a WE line can go to any of these branches with their personal identity card and pay only EGP 15 per line.
With regard to the prices of Internet packages in the new network, they start from EGP 10 and up to EGP 200 per month, and in the range of 1 GB to 40 GB per month.
