In a memorial ceremony of the October War, Minister of Culture Helmy Namnam honoured a group of armed force heroes who served in the war well as a group of artists who participated at artistic works that immortalized the great victory.
The ceremony was a part of a festival organized by the Cultural Production Affairs Sector at Al-Hanager theatre.
In his speech Namnam asserted the October War is considered a historical miracle by all means on the political, humanitarian and military sides, “a miracle for those who participated in it, and before them those who planned it” he said.
“Between October 1973 and October 2017 times flies, yet Egypt remains strong in front of all of its enemies inside and out” he added “this country managed to build a civilization and to present people good, humanity and teach them ethics”.
He also mentioned that this nation’s miracle lies in its capability of rebuilding the Armed Forces in the period between 1976 and 1973 at the same time of building the high dam, moving Abu Simbel temples and building Egypt’s largest aluminium factory, “Egyptalum”.
The ceremony was attended by several cultural figures including the Secretary-General of Supreme Council Of Culture, Rabe’ Amin, head of Cultural Development Fund, Ahmed Awad, culture minister’s consultant of cinema affairs, Khaled Galal, and the head of the Theater House Ismail Mokhtar.
