The Research and Awareness Department at the EIB is organising a seminar for journalists on Wednesday, entitled “Financing Green Projects”.

Hoda Sabri, a financial and banking expert, has worked for several years in foreign banks inside and outside Egypt in the fields of project finance and credit, branch management, investment and corporate finance, and small and medium enterprises.

Sabri is a financial consultant for projects for efficient use of resources, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and environmental commitment, as well as her managerial role in the areas of institutional development, restructuring, and human resources.

According to the EIB, the interest in holding this seminar comes within the framework of the institute’s keenness to communicate continuously with journalists and use them to deepen knowledge and exchange views on contemporary issues in the financial and banking arena.

There are obstacles facing many developing countries to attract capital for green investment, due to lack of sufficient awareness among investors, weak technical capabilities, and lack of knowledge of some of the employees of banks and financial institutions in the structure of profits, risks of green investments, and suitable financing products.
