The Egyptian Electricity Holding Company (EEHC) will pose a limited tender in December for maintenance and operation of the new Siemens power plants in Beni Suef, the New Administrative Capital and El Brulus.
Sources from the Ministry of Electricity said that four companies are bidding for the ministry’s tender. These companies submitted their offers earlier this year, and the EEHC approved them and informed them of posing a limited tender to determine the best offer.
The four companies are Siemens, Germany’s Steiaj, Orascom-ADERA Energy consortium, and Elsewedy-EDF consortium.
The sources said that the EEHC formed a committee to study the anticipated company offers within 20-30 days. They added that the ministry will sign a contract with the winning company early next year.
German company Siemens aims to add 14,400 MW to the national electricity grid by May 2018, by completing work on three projects that are to be implemented in Brulus, the New Administrative Capital, and Beni Suef, under an EBC + Finance system.
