Minister of Military Production Mohamed Al-Assar met with Minister of Transport Hesham Arafat on Sunday to discuss means of cooperation between both ministries and the latest developments across several projects.
Al-Assar said that the two ministers reviewed the business results of projects being implemented through coordination between their ministries, including the development of 295 railway crossings, and the development of 86 train stations, next to the project for paving 5.5 km and 6.2 km sections of the regional ring road. He noted that there has been fruitful cooperation to implement these joint ventures and praised the speed of implementing them to serve Egyptians.
Moreover, Al-Assar discussed a number of new projects that his ministry can participate in, such as manufacturing 1,300 train carts and 100 locomotives, which can be done through cooperation between the ministry’s companies and foreign companies operating in these fields. He also presented a number of other possible ventures in the fields of railway and metro development.
For his part, Arafat said that the meeting came within the framework of tracking the implementation of current projects with the Ministry of Military Production, noting that the government has given great focus to improving the transport and railway systems across Egypt. He also said that the Ministry of Transport aims to cooperate with the Ministry of Military Production in a number of fields related to the transport, railway, and roads sectors to achieve the ministry’s plan to exploit local expertise and domestic components in manufacturing and development.
