The Federation of Egyptian Banks (FEB) and the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI), in collaboration with the Centre for International Private Enterprise, will hold the second conference on the transformation into a non-monetary economy on 16 January 2018.
The conference will be opened by Hisham Ezz El Arab, president of the FEB; Mohamed El Sewidi, president of the FEI; and Andrew Wilson, representing the Centre for International Private Enterprise.
The conference will discuss the proposed operational map for the transformation into a non-monetary economy to be submitted to the concerned entities.
The conference sessions will review what was accomplished in the previous period in this issue, and the objectives of the transition to a non-monetary economy from the point of view of the FEB and the FEI.
The conference will also tackle the package of measures required to achieve this in the short- and medium-terms and the proposed legislative amendments to activate these procedures.
Moreover, the conference will also discuss the current and targeted situation with regard to the technological capabilities available to ensure the smooth and secure transformation of a non-monetary economy and will review international experience in this regard.
