Market shares of fastest growing smartphone brands in 2017

Last year witnessed strong and brutal competition, causing damage to the market share of several major companies, such as Nokia, Samsung, and HTC. However, other companies benefited from that competition and increased their market shares.

Infinix was one of the better-performing companies in 2017. The company was able to increase its market share from 2.4% in December 2016 to 5% in December 2017.

According to Statista, Huawei ranked second in terms of biggest gainers after increasing its share of the market from 10.6% at the end of December 2016 to 13% by the end of December 2017.

Tecno Mobile entered the list of top gainers last year after acquiring a 2.3% share of smartphone sales by the end of December 2017, while it did not have a significant share in 2016.

China’s Oppo also increased its market share by more than 100%, rising from 1% in December 2016 to 2.2% in December.

Apple also increased its market share slightly in 2017 compared to 2016, increasing its market share from 7.9% in December 2016 to 8.5% in December 2017.

Lenovo also joined the list, increasing its market share in Egypt from 7.8% in December 2016 to 8.1% in December 2017.
