The Ministry of Planning, Follow-up and Administrative Reform announced that it is organising, in cooperation with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), to launch the first national network of business incubators in Egypt.

The ministry said in a statement on Monday that the ministry will organise cooperation on the project “Rowad 2030” (Pioneers 2030).

Hala Al-Saeed, minister of planning, follow-up and administrative reform, stressed the importance of implementing this project, which will act as an umbrella for all business incubators in the republic.

She noted that a team will be sent to all business incubators across Egypt to introduce the system of the national network.

Ghada Khalil, Pioneers 2030 manager at the Ministry of Planning, said that the plan of action of the national network for business incubators will be the result of cooperation between the project and the ASRT to provide the necessary technical and marketing support for emerging ideas and companies with economic benefits.

Khalil explained that the incubators will target ideas and projects that provide solutions to national problems and challenges, noting that it was agreed that the headquarters of the network will be at the Institute of National Planning.

The 2030 Pioneers project was established under the umbrella of the Ministry of Planning, Follow-up and Administrative Reform, in order to enable youth to establish private enterprises and to be devoted to and support the role of entrepreneurship in developing the national economy and diversifying sources of income.

The project will provide a range of services such as scholarships and graduate programmes to study entrepreneurship, as well as support the establishment of business incubators to serve emerging companies.
