Continuing to emphasise its leadership in the Egyptian market as the largest supplier of industrial oils for the eleventh year in a row, Shell Egypt renewed its partnership for the second time with Sukari Gold Mining Company, after the partnership started in 2014, making Shell the exclusive supplier of oil to Sukari projects.

The signing ceremony was attended by Saher Hashem, managing director of Shell Egypt; Mostafa Sadek, director of petroleum affairs; Moataz Al Sayed, direct sales manager; and Mostafa Mahmoud, sales manager of mining, oil, and gas sector.

On the Sukari part, Ali Barakat, chairperson of Sukari Group and Yousef Al-Rajhi, managing director of the company, attended the event.

Based on this partnership, Shell will support the activities of Sukari and supply its demand of petroleum products and other services needs.

Hashem said that Shell Egypt has the expertise and competencies that have always qualified the company to become the top oil supplier in many industrial sectors. “We are always looking for more cooperation with international companies such as Centamin, given the mutual benefit they provide,” he added.

Moreover, Hashem noted that Shell Egypt does not only stop at being a lubricants supplier, but works on a partnership with their clients that is based on fruitful cooperation and mutual benefit. “We always provide technical solutions and technical services to our partners, which reflects positively on the performance of their equipment, which leads to increased production rates, and then achieve an increase in profits rates.”

Meanwhile, Al-Rajhi said that over the past three years, Shell has proven to be a golden partner. “We are always seeking the best companies to be our success partners, which is the reason why we selected Shell Egypt, given its leadership status and high quality lubricants,” he said. “We have renewed our partnership with Shell Egypt to leverage its oil expertise and services to achieve the highest production rates. We look forward to continuing this partnership with Shell.”

It is noteworthy that the Sukari mine is located in the Eastern Desert near the Red Sea. It is managed by the Sukari Gold Mining Company, a subsidiary of Centamin Egypt, in partnership with the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. Sukari’s reserves are estimated at 13m ounces of gold.
