Misr El Kheir Foundation is expected to sign a cooperation agreement with Emaar Misr on housing construction and small projects, the foundation’s head of resources development, Amal Mobdy, said on Sunday.
Mobdy added that the foundation will also be signing an agreement with Al-Ahly Sports Club, but she did not disclose the objective of the agreement.
Misr El Kheir’s chairperson of the board of trustees Ali Gomaa stressed the importance of cooperation between civil society organisations, the business sector, and the government to reengineer Egypt’s future and restore its prestige.
Gomaa pointed out that the foundation is keen to set a model in charity business that can be applied by any other institutions, especially in health and education sectors, emphasising that his institution does not compete with other civil society institutions, but it integrates with them.
Minister of Local Development Abu Bakr El-Gendy maintained that the sense of solidarity and responsibility that Egyptians have will greatly contribute to the development of Egypt eventually.
El-Gendy pointed out that charities have improved lives of many people in Egypt, applauding the role played by Misr El Kheir and similar organisations in the philanthropy field.
He noted that the government cannot single-handedly resolve all the country’s woes without the communal work of citizens.
