For football fans wanting to travel to support Egypt in the World Cup, transportation there is free and the price for a night’s stay is only around $25.

The draw for the 2018 World Cup, held at the Kremlin Palace in Russia, put the Egyptian team in Group A alongside the Russian, Uruguayan, and Saudi Arabian teams.

The national team starts their Group A matches against Uruguay on 15 June, then Russia on 19 June and Saudi Arabia on 25 June. The Egyptian team, also known as the Pharaohs, will be playing their three group games at three different venues.

Many Egyptian fans are looking for ways to reach the cities hosting Egypt’s matches. Egypt will play in the first round in the three Russian cities of Yekaterinburg, Volgograd, and Saint Petersburg.

Yekaterinburg

Egyptian fans can get to the Russian city of Yekaterinburg through flights from Egypt, laying over in Dubai, and thenflying to Yekaterinburg, where the city has an international airport called Koltsovo.

The Russian city of Yekaterinburg was founded on 18 November 1723, with a population of 1.455 million.

The fans can reach the city of Yekaterinburg a few days before the start of the game, scheduled for Friday 15 June against Uruguay at 4:00 pm at the Ekaterinburg Arena.

Fans can book a Fly Dubai flight to reach the city of Yekaterinburg and search for cheaper hotels and places to stay for at least two days.

The stadium can also be reached through public transport in Russia, which will be available to all fans of the World Cup free of charge, or a special taxi stand that takes people to the stadium in six minutes.

Spectatorrs can book a room at Hostel RED in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg, where a room is priced at EGP 420 per night.

Saint Petersburg

After Egypt’s match in the city of Yekaterinburg,  Egyptian fans will need to reach the next match in Russia’s oldest city, Saint Petersburg, a day away from Yekaterinburg using free trains that will be available to all match-goers in the city where the team will play.

Before arriving in Saint Petersburg, fans must book a hotel room for at least two days. The Egyptian team match which is on 15 June in Yekaterinburg will force fans to leave the city on 16 June to get to Saint Petersburg the next day.

Spectators can get a room at RED’s branch in Saint Petersburg, named Red HouseHostel where a room’s cost will be slightly higher than other cities.

The city’s Saint-Petersburg Stadium can be reached in one hour via a free train for World Cup fans.

Volgograd 

After Egypt’s match in Saint Petersburg on 19 June, Saudi Arabia will face the final match in the Russian city of Volgograd, which is also a day’s travel from Saint Petersburg, using free trains for World Cup fans.

The trip is different from the other journey from the city of Yekaterinburg to Saint Petersburg, where fans can stay for a while in the Russian city of Saint Petersburg to enjoy the beauty of the Russian city, as the match between the Egyptians and Saudis on 25 June provides a chance to enjoy the city for several days.

Fans should go to the train station at 10:00 pm to arrive in the Russian city of Volgograd the next evening, as the journey takes 24 hours by train.

Before leaving Saint Petersburg, fans must book at hostel, such as Scotch Hostel, where the average room rate is EGP 200. Fans can go to the train station to travel to the city stadium where the Egyptian team will meet the Saudi team at Volgograd Arena.
