The Egyptian Japanese University for Science and Technology (E-JUST) organised on Saturday the second edition of its Science Café on its campus in Borg El-Arab city, in collaboration with the Japanese Embassy in Cairo.
The event presented the latest scientific and technological updates in the field of engineering and pioneering studies in business administration to encourage students through interactive presentations from E-JUST researchers and experts, according to a press statement from the embassy.
The idea behind Science Café is inspired by Japanese culture, said E-JUST Chairperson Ahmad El-Gohary, adding that the forum aims to encourage students not only to ask the experts and the specialists questions, but also to interact with them.
The Ambassador of Japan to Cairo Takehiro Kagawa gave a lecture and shared his experience as an ambitious student in Egypt.
“Students should think about their future life, define their own goals in line with humanity’s needs,” he said.
E-JUST organised an innovation competition on the sidelines of the forum, in which 101 students participated. They were from secondary schools and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) schools from five different governorates
The competition included many sectors such as nanotechnology, engineering, environmental science, chemistry, biology, and agricultural science.
E-JUST experts evaluated the student entries and announced the winners at the end of the forum.
