Tanya Misr Fund cooperated with Orman Charity Association in accomplishing the second phase of the second protocol regarding the reconstruction and the development of the poorest villages in the country in 15 governorates (Fayoum, Beni Suef, Sohag, Minya, Sharqeya, Qena, Beheira, Kafr El-Sheikh, Assiut, Luxor, Aswan, North Sinai, Daqahleya, and Gharbia) in order to provide appropriate housing for the most impoverished citizens in Egypt’s rural areas.
So far, around 1,500 houses have been reconstructed in 50 villages, benefiting around 2,880 citizens.
The project is targeting the reconstruction and development of 3,030 houses in 100 villages.
Tahya Misr Fund had previously signed another cooperation protocol with the Orman Association, through which 4,264 houses were reconstructed in 132 villages at a total cost of EGP 200m in all phases.
The beneficiaries of the project are 37,000 citizens, and more than 80% of the project has been completed.
The project rehabilitates low-quality homes through the implementation of flooring, electricity, internal drainage, and restoring and erecting roofs.
After the completion of all maintenance works, the houses shall be delivered, provided proof of ownership, a copy of the national ID, and signature of the beneficiary are presented.
