Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker and Minister of Military Production Mohamed Al-Assar attended the signing of a cooperation protocol between the National Organisation for Military Production (NOMP) and the UAE-based company Advanced Technology Development (ATD), which is a provider of services, maintenance, and development of power plants.
Al-Assar explained that the aim of the protocol is to make the companies that are affiliated with the NOMP in charge of developing and rehabilitating power plants by improving their fuel consumption efficiency, as well as the domestic manufacturing of spare parts and the needed parts for the development of power plants for the Ministry of Electricity.
He stressed that the Ministry of Military Production’s companies have the technological, manufacturing, and human capabilities that enable them to manufacture the spare parts necessary to upgrade the efficiency and rehabilitation of the stations and to carry out their maintenance and modernisation according to the latest technologies used in the manufacture and supply in accordance with the specifications and requirements required for this.
The minister of military production said that this protocol will save a lot of the maintenance and operations costs of power plants through the reliance on domestic components and spare parts and through the development of fuel consumption systems, which increases the value of domestic components and provides foreign currency.
For his part, the minister of electricity and renewable energy said that according to this protocol, the UAE company ATD will maintain, modernise, and upgrade the power plants in Egypt in cooperation with the Military Production Ministry.
Finally, he stressed that this protocol is an important step in achieving the role played by the Ministry of Electricity for the establishment and development of power plants in Egypt in order to provide different sources of energy for citizens on an ongoing basis.
