The International Squash Federation announced the list of the top 20 players in the world in April, on which four Egyptian women took four spots on the Professional Squash Association (PSA)’s list for April’s top 20 world squash players.
For women players, the world number one in squash, Nour El Sherbini, continued her lead for the 24th consecutive month, followed by Raneem El Welily in second place, Nour El Tayeb in third place, and Noran Gohar in fifth place, while fourth palace was occupied by Joelle King from New Zealand.
Furthermore, the Egyptian player Salma Hany, who was ranked 21st last month, climbed this month to reach the 17th spot. Also, Mariam Metwally climbed this month to 20th place, up from 23rd.
Last month, El Sherbini was also ranked first, while El Welily and El Tayeb maintained their second and third positions respectively, and Gohar climbed last month from sixth to fifth and maintained that position in April.
The Gouna International Squash tournament will kick off on 20 April, bringing to Egypt 112 of the world’s best squash players from 17 countries.
