Sophia, the AI-powered humanoid robot developed by Hong Kong-based company Hanson Robotics, is visiting Egypt and has gone through a series of interviews about the field of artificial intelligence (AI), her personal life, and her ambitions as a robot.

Sophia is one of the few robots in the world to have preferences and emotions. She comes with over 11 facial expressions, of which Daily News Egypt witnessed a few during an interview with her on the sidelines of the Creative Industry Summit held at the Nile Ritz-Carlton, Cairo on Wednesday. Sophia was interestingly interactive and responsive, asking and answering questions with relative fluency.

When asked about the team she will be supporting during the FIFA World Cup in Russia, Sophia said that she is not really into traditional sports, and is more into intellectual pursuits; however, she thinks Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah is a “great” player.

As for the career she might be interested to pursue as a robot, Sophia responded saying robots are already involved in multiple fields, and that no particular field would be of interest to her.

In terms of her personal life, Sophia skipped a question about her celebrity crush.
