Egyptian Rhythmic Gymnastics player, Tia Sobhy, qualified for the 2018 Youth Olympics in Argentina, after winning a gold medal in the individual competition of the 14th African Championships for Rhythmic Gymnastics.
Sobhy competed with 19 girls from 14 other African countries.
The 15-year-old Sobhy qualified along with another two contestants who won silver and bronze medals at the championships.
Azaro Diwan, a contestant from South Africa, won second place, garnering a silver medal, while Hada Lina from Tunisia won bronze.
Sobhy previously competed in several national and international championships under Al Gezira Sporting Club.
