The capacityt of jetties at Damietta Port increased by 3.5% in February this year compared to February 2017, according to a report issued by the Damietta Port Authority (DPA).
The capacity of jetties in Damietta Port increased from 199 ships in February 2017 to 206 ships in February 2018, according to the report.
The volume of cargo handled at the port increased by 6% in February compared to the same period of 2017, as the volume went from 2.8m tonnes in February 2017 to 3m tonnes in February 2018.
The DPA announced that the number of containers at the port increased by 20% in February 2018 compared to February 2017, from 86,100 to 103,600.
The report issued by the DPA for January 2018 showed an increase in the number of containers at the port by 35% compared to January 2017, as the number of containers handled through the port increased from 87,800 in January 2017 to 119,200 in January this year.
The number of outgoing containers increased by 42% in January to reach 60,200 compared to January 2017, when they reached 42,700.
The number of incoming containers increased by 30% during the same period to reach 58,500, versus 45,000 in January 2017.
