Acropol Renewable Energy Solutions aims to sell 500 solar heaters by the end of 2018. Its manager, Mohamed El-Shehawy, said that the company is competing to supply 100 solar heaters in three tenders, including five heaters for Cairo Poultry Group, 25 heaters for Al-Watania Poultry, and 40 heaters for the Suez Canal Authority.
He added that the company sold 5,000 heaters to 100 hotels, including 800 to Albatros, 216 to Radisson Blu, and the remaining to several hotels, including Park Inn and Green Plaza.
He explained that the company is an agent for the Greek company Dimas Solar Industry, as it contracted to establish a production line in Greece to manufacture solar heaters, with plans to open new branches in Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and Kenya.
He pointed out that the solar heater consists of a solar collector, thermal tank, and installation materials.
He noted that in order to keep the water hot in difficult climates, the heaters are equipped with an electric heater, with capacities ranging from 1,500-4,000 W, that turns on automatically by a thermostat to ensure the rationing of electricity consumption.
