Baptiste Dumas, agri-food department manager at Business France’s Egypt office, told Daily News Egypt that his organisation is promoting three exhibitions which will take place in France in 2018.
Dumas noted that Business France is coordinating with the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) to support an Egyptian delegation visit to the food business exhibition SIAL, which will take place from 21-25 October at Paris Nord Villepinte.
“We are specialised in assisting SMEs. However, we help big firms when asked for support,” said Dumas, noting that Business France will help Egyptian SMEs that want to import from France and benefit from the opportunities offered by visiting the SIAL exhibition, which is considered the world’s largest food exhibition.
Meanwhile, Dumas noted that the French Embassy in Egypt is encouraging Egyptian companies to visit SPACE, an international exhibition for livestock, which will take place from 11-14 September in Rennes, France.
“I think that many Egyptian firms will visit the SPACE exhibition 2018, which witnessed 114,653 visitors in 2017 and 1,443 exhibitors,” said Dumas, noting that SPACE is an opportunity to meet directly with new partners.
Dumas added that Business France is promoting Egyptian participation at Sommet de l’Élevage, the European exhibition for promoting French cattle, sheep, and equine production, which will take place in October.
Noteworthy, the trade exchange with Egypt reached €2.5bn at the end of 2017, €1.9bn of which were exports from France to Egypt while €0.6bn were Egyptian exports to France.
