The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources approved an instalments system for natural gas deliveries to 684,000 customers across Egypt for a period of up to six years.

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El-Molla said that gas delivery companies have implemented land and underground networks for the delivery of gas to 684,000 customers in a number of areas across the governorates of Egypt who have not contracted for gas supply thus far.

He explained that to ease costs for citizens, he approved for them to pay the delivery value with the gas consumption bill, in instalments.

El-Molla stressed the commitment of companies to implement the gas delivery plan for households, pointing to the sector’s direction to overcome the challenges that hinder all deliveries.

The decision comes within the framework of the state plan to expand the use of natural gas and replace it as a substitute for liquid petroleum products to reduce the financial burdens borne by the state budget, especially in support of butane cylinders, and also to alleviate the suffering of citizens.
