The board of directors of Metropolitan Consulting decided to appoint Hany Aboul Fotouh as deputy chairperson of the company.

According to Khaled Nagaty, managing director, hiring Aboul Fotouh for the position is an important step for the company, in light of his long experience in the banking sector and financial and administrative consulting, as well as training at many leading banks in Egypt and the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council. He has also worked in one of the largest international auditing and consulting firms in Kuwait.

Nagaty added that hiring Aboul Fotouh also comes in light of the strategy recently adopted by the company for development, especially after it obtained the ISO 9001 certificate, which was the culmination of a more than 10-year effort.

Noteworthy, Metropolitan was established in 2007 in order to offer a variety of financial and credit services to small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

For his part, Aboul Fotouh stressed that the company seeks to achieve its goals in supporting the SMEs sector as the locomotive of the economy over the upcoming period. This will happen through providing proper funding for their projects, he said, whether banking or non-banking funding.

He added that this will happen through tools that include banking facilitations of all kinds, in addition to financial leasing, factoring, acquisitions, and direct investments. Troubled projects will also be helped with rescheduling and settling their debts with financial institutions.

Aboul Fotouh expressed his optimism about the implementation of expansion and restructuring plans for the company to enhance its leading position in the Egyptian market and seeking to list the company’s shares on the Egyptian Exchange.
