Yemini forces backed by Saudi-led coalition and UAE forces on Saturday said they have captured the Yemini port of Al Hudaydah, as attacks intensified in the rebel-held city that is the gate way for food supplies to the war-torn country, could be the biggest attack since the war started in 2015.
However, Houthis controlled official news agency SABA and denied that they lost control over the airport, asserting that the Saudi–led forces did not enter the airport.
War planes struck on Saturday Houthi targets on the edge of Al Hudaydah, while attacks raged and spread to main and major roads to Sanaa, the Houthi-held city.
Hundreds of Yemini people trapped in their homes inside the city due to the continuing clashes.
Meanwhile, the UN special envoy, Martin Griffiths, arrived in Sanaa for emergency crisis talks regarding the clashes that started on Wednesdayin the famine-stricken country.
He has not issued any statements yet.
Last week, the Saudi and UAE led-collation started a massive military operation on Al Hudaydah in western Yemen, with the aim to defeat the Houthi movement, which controls the strategic port city.
