The German embassy in Egypt announced opening a new Visa Application Centre in Alexandria in collaboration with the external service provider TLScontact after more than one year of successful cooperation in Cairo.

A Tuesday statement from the German embassy said that starting 20 June, visa applicants can submit their applications for a Schengen visa in Alexandria as well as in Cairo, adding that appointments can be booked online.

The statement noted that the German embassy has successfully improved its customer service for visa applicants after cooperating with TLScontact, and that waiting times for appointments were significantly reduced, adding, “The expansion of services to Alexandria is one further step ahead.”

The German embassy and TLScontact are organising a reception on Wednesday to celebrate opening Alexandria’s new Visa Application Centre for Germany. Philipp Wennholz, head of the Legal and Consular Department at the German embassy, will attend the event, as well as officials from TLScontact.
