The deputy chairperson of the New Urban Communities Authority for Real Estate and Commercial Affairs (NUCA), Tarek Al-Sibai announced n a press statement on Wednesday that the sales of the second phase of “Sakan Misr” conditions booklets reached 6,650 for 22,244 units, in eight new cities in 17 days, since the reservation opened on 3 June.
Al-Sibai added that the sold booklets are distributed as follows: 3,090 booklets in New Cairo City, 1,591 booklets in 6 October, 984 ones in Obour City, 442 in New Damietta, 255 in Badr City, 89 for New Menia, 89 ones in the city of Nasser, and 15 booklets in West Qena.
He added that the premises (down payment) can be payed, and the conditions book can be sold between 24 July and 16 August 2018. He explained that the sale of the booklets will be through the headquarters of the eight cities until the end of the date of booking.
He pointed out that the delivery of project units will be within 18 months from the public tender that will be held to determine who will win the units.
Al-Sibai noted that the units offered within the second phase of the Sakn Misr project are across about115 sqm.
This project is suitable for a citizen whose income does not comply with the booking conditions of social housing apartments. It is being implemented for the first time in Egypt at a lower price than the middle-class housing project “Dar Misr” and in larger areas than the social housing project “million units.”
For his part, Waleed Abbas, assistant minister of housing for the affairs of the new urban communities’ authority, explained that to book a unit in this project, the applicant must be at least a 21-year-old Egyptian and have not previously purchased an apartment or a piece of land from the ministry. Finally, a family cannot apply for more than one unit.
