Newly appointed President’s Assistant for National Projects Sherif Ismail established a unified mechanism of work for all committees of expropriation for public benefits to follow, in order to confirm the compatibility of decisions and evaluation criteria.
During the first meeting of the committee headed by Ismail, he pointed out that there will be full coordination between all the state bodies to complete this file and provide the full facilitations for those who are serious to legalising their conditions.
This was Ismail’s first meeting with the committee following the resignation of Ibrahim Mehlab, who was in the position since 2015.
Ismail made several decisions; on top was the formation of a committee that adopted a number of ration campaigns to follow up on the rationing procedures in markets and shops. He also ordered preparing the 10th evacuation campaign to remove the encroachments on the lands, as well as emphasising on the governorates to quickly complete the registration of 90,000 rationing requests that have not been registered on the electronic system to complete the database.
During the first meeting of the committee chaired by Ismail, he pointed out that there will be full coordination between all the state bodies to complete this file and provide the full facilitations of the serious citizens in the rationing, with the formation of committees to follow up the work of the provinces to ensure the termination of regulation, as soon as possible and collect the right of the state.
Ismail, who was also the former prime minister, reviewed during the meeting a report including the requests of citizens to legalise the lands submitted, during a specific time period that ended on 14 June.
The report included a number of 265,000 requests, Ismail said, adding that, until now, 177 have been registered. Ismail said that the report also identified a number of obstacles that faced the work of the committees and were later addressed in favour of facilitating citizens.
Ismail concluded that a high committee will continue its effort to coordinate with concerned bodies take a necessary measures to expedite the completion of the procedures of all those who meet the conditions of rationing, while at the same time law enforcement forces will continue evacuation.
