Samsung still controls the largest share of smartphone sales in Egypt despite fierce competition among other smartphone manufacturers, especially Chinese, who continue to increase their market share.
According to a Statcounter report, Samsung’s market share of total mobile phone sales in Egypt declined slightly in June from 38.7% last May to 38.4% in June.
Although Samsung’s market share declined, it continued to dominate the largest market share of smartphone sales in the Egyptian market during the past month of June.
According to the report, Huawei continued its silent march to rival Samsung and Huawei’s market share increased by nearly 1%.
Huawei’s market share increased from 14.8% in May to 15.7% in June, thus maintaining position in terms of smartphone market share in Egypt.
iPhone continues to lose more market share in Egypt for competitors for the fifth month in a row.
According to the report, the market share of iPhone phones fell from 9.3% in May to 8.5% during June.
Infinix continues its strong growth in smartphone sales in Egypt. Since the beginning of the year, the company has been increasing its market share per month, which is reflected in this month’s report. Infinix managed to surpass Lenovo for the first time and replace it in the fourth rank.
According to the report, Infinix ‘share rose from 6.9% in May to 7.9% in June, an increase of 1%.
Lenovo slipped to fifth place behind Infinix after its market share fell from 7.6% last May to 6.8% June.
Oppo is also continuing to advance to better rankings through the continuous increase in its market share. For the third consecutive month, OPPO managed to increase its market share during the month of June to 4.1% compared to 3.5% in May, thus occupying sixth position in the Egyptian market.
Techno Mobile came in seventh place, ahead of last month’s ranking and maintained its market share with a slight increase, with Techno Mobile accounting for 2.6% of market sales in June 2018.
For the second straight month, Nokia left this month’s ranking for the smartphones, the largest in terms of market shares in the Egyptian market, replaced by Sony, which was able to acquire a market share of 1.8%.
