With international calls to reduce the world’s dependence on plastic and save the oceans from imminent suffocation, many entrepreneurs around the globe are focused on recycling plastic, as well as discovering alternatives for the daily must haves.

Like any other country around the world, Egypt consumes an increasing amount of plastic waste every day—without scientific methods for recycling. In a matter of a few years, Up Fuse has managed to make upcycled plastic a colourful local statement. The founding duo has successfully upcycled around 60,000 plastic bags.

Whether the outcome is a trendy backpack or a dependable notebook, the environment-friendly brand is on the path to redefine plastic waste like never before. In celebration of the new season, Up Fuse decided to accompany its loyal clients to their destination vacations with a contemporary clutch.

The new collection dropped with an upcycled version of this season’s most famous bag—weaved straw handbags. The “Bay clutch” remains royal to the brand’s aesthetic with a colourful upcycled flap made out of 15 plastic bags.

Same as the brand’s previous products, each design is only produced once—colour combinations cannot be reproduced in the same method again, which makes this collection the true definition of “limited edition.” The hand-held accessory is available through the brand’s Instagram account.
