With the approval of Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli, , Mohamed Maait Minister of Finance issued a decision to extend the deadline for the collection of real estate tax without penalty delay until 15 October 2018, according to press statement on Thursday.
The statement said that this decision is considered to facilitate the taxpayers and to avoid overcrowding in Egyptian Real Estate Taxation Authority.
The statement noted that the extension of the time of payment of the tax is the last deadline after it was scheduled to end on 15 August and will extend the deadline for two more months.
The statement pointed out that the provisions of the law will be applied to those who default on paying the tax after the deadline.
The Minister announced that the online statements will be submitted electronically from next season to collect tax in all Real Estate Taxation Authorities in the framework of the application of payment system and electronic collection.
The statement added that this procedure aims to save more time and effort on taxpayers and there is currently a website is http://enquiry.rta.gov.eg to download form of data for the unit as an alternative to the takspayer to go to taxation authorities to find out the value of the required payment.
