L’Oréal Egypt organised its Citizen Day for the seventh consecutive year on Thursday, which is a day of community volunteering that enables employees to devote an entire day of working time to support the beneficiaries of non-profit organisations in the social and environmental area.
This year, Citizen Day focused on enhancing environmental awareness among all people, especially women. The day is organised in partnership with the Greenish Foundation and students of Al Darb El Ahmar School for Art, Culture, and Music.
As part of the initiative, L’Oréal teams support a variety of actions to transform Al Genaina Theatre/School to become an entirely environmentally friendly arena, starting from conducting awareness workshops, creating, painting, and decorating new recycling trashcans, involving the students in many upcycling workshops to educate the new generation of the worldwide environmental challenges and the essentials of recycling.
“The day is inspired from L’Oreal group sustainable programme, ‘Sharing Beauty With All’, which is a fundamental pillar of our transformation and a strategic priority for all our teams,” L’Oreal Egypt Managing Director Benoit Julia stated.
“We are delighted that Citizen Day gives our employees the opportunity to educate the children, the new generation, to think green, act green, to recycle and limit waste to make sure their future is more beautiful and to plant and build a more sustainable world,” she asserted.
