Mobile market loses 1.45% users, internet gains 800,000 new users

The number of mobile subscribers decreased during May by 1.45% month-over-month. According to a report from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the number of mobile users fell from 107 million in April to 105.6 million in May.

The report noted that the internet market saw 800,000 more clients join in May, rising from 39.7 million in April to 40.5 million in May.

The number of mobile internet users increased by 2.1% in May, rising from 30.7 million to 31.3 million.

The number of USB modem users increased by 1.1% in May, rising from 3.45 million to 3.48 million.

According to the report, the number of ADSL users increased by 1.7% m-o-m from 5.6 million in April to 5.7 million in May.

Furthermore, landline users also increased by 3.3% in May to reach 7.7 million, up from 7.4 million.
