Orange lost 677,000 clients in May, Vodafone lost least amount

The three mobile operators—Vodafone, Orange, and Etisalat—lost many clients in May, as mobile users fell to 96.4 million from 97.6 million, a loss of over 1.1 million users.

Vodafone was the company to lose the least amount of its clients in May, with only 104,300 users lost. The company’s clients dropped from 42.1 million in April to 42 million in May.

According to the report of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Etisalat lost 390,700 users in May. The company’s clients fell from 20.3 million in April to19.9 million in May.

Orange lost the most in May, with its users falling from 32 million in April to 31.3 million in May, losing some 677,000 clients.

The report noted that the internet market saw 800,000 more clients joining in May, rising from 39.7 million in April to 40.5 million in May.

The number of mobile internet users increased by 2.1% in May, rising from 30.7 million to 31.3 million.

The number of USB modem users increased by 1.1% in May, rising from 3.45 million to 3.48 million.

According to the report, the number of ADSL users increased by 1.7% m-o-m, from 5.6 million in April to 5.7 million in May.

Furthermore, landline users also increased by 3.3% in May to reach 7.7 million, up from 7.4 million.
