The Ministry of Finance confirmed that the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA) has completed its preparations to begin implementation of the decision of the minister of finance obligating the tax community to submit tax returns online.
Thus, the ETA has prepared many online facilities and equipment to facilitate the implementation of the decision by the tax community, especially companies and large institutions, according to a press statement on Thursday.
The statement noted that July witnessed the experimental start to receive online declarations and provide all information required to take advantage of this advanced mechanism that makes it easier for taxpayers to submit their declarations from their offices instead of regular visits to tax authorities to submit documents and declarations.
The statement pointed out that the decision of the minister to apply for the submission of tax returns online included several stages. The first stage starts with submitting declarations of the collection system under the tax account, provided every three months, and VAT declarations, which are submitted monthly to tax authorities. As for income tax returns, the application will be applied gradually starting from the next tax season on 1 January 2019 until the end of March for individuals and the end of April 2019 for companies.
