For the eighties generation, growing up watching Mazinger was their ultimate source of joy. Reviving their childhood memories, Spacetoon Pictures, the specialised company in distributing and publishing cartoon and animation movies in Middle East and North Africa (MENA), has recently announced that Mazinger Z: Infinity is coming to hit GCC movie theatres on 23 August this year.

The film sees the light brining a different, more interesting, and grabs the attention and perspective of the superhero.

In cooperation with Toei Animation, the Japanese animation studio, Spacetoon Pictures is about to revive the glory of a wonderful tale about the conflict between good and evil, which is still present in the memory of Arab youth.

The movie comes after more than 40 years of releasing Mazinger Z and the Grendizer series in the Arab world. This time Koji faces a battel triggered by Dr. Hell after he attacks Mount. Fuji, which threatens the existence of mankind. Thus, Koji pilots Mazinger Z once more to regain the peace and security of the planet.

Fayez Al-Sabbagh, the president of GNAM, the parent company of Spacetoon Pictures mentioned that Mazinger Z: Infinity represents an extraordinary experience for anime fans and Mazinger lovers, said: “we realize how tightly the Arab audience is connected to old T.V shows that bring feelings of nostalgia to their hearts, that is why we chose to present a new style of their favourite show, and to provide a new experience in the theatres away from T.V screens. The audience will enjoy watching Koji and his friends in high resolution.”

What makes Mazinger Z stick out for all these years is being the first super robot with a human pilot in the history of cartoon and anime, and they both have shown a great sense of sacrifice and courage in defeating the evil and protecting the planet.

Behind the success of this work stands the legendary “Gô Nagai” who was a prominent figure in the cartoon and anime world, and his works are now considered as icons that inspire many artists and authors around the world.

Gô Nagai chose to celebrate the 50th anniversary of starting his career by bringing Mazinger Z back. The movie witnessed a huge success when it was first released in Japan, France, and Italy before the Arab region.

Mazinger Z gained a wide fame in the eighties of the last century, as well as Koji-the protagonist of the series- who has also played a supporting role in Grendizer anime series, which is one of the most successful cartoon series in the nineties.
