A high-level delegation from Boeing International and the leaders of the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University met on Thursday, to explore opportunities for joint cooperation in the fields of innovation, creativity, research projects, and entrepreneurship.
The meeting discussed developing scientific and applied skills of the university students.
Boeing’s global delegation headed by Roula Droubi, Regional head of Government, Industry and Social Relations in the Middle East and North Africa, Juan Carlos Campbell, Boeing Middle East Research and Technology director, and Abigail Dunberg, International Relations officer.
During the meeting, Ayman Ashour, dean of Ain Shams University, emphasised the university’s vision for 2030, which includes the “merger” initiative launched by the Faculty of Engineering last May under the patronage of the prime minister, with the aim of linking higher education and scientific research with the industry.
The initiative can contribute to finding solutions to the problems of the Egyptian industry and pushing them to the world.
Ashour pointed out that the visit of Boeing delegation, one of the world’s leading aviation and aerospace companies, to the Faculty of Engineering, confirms the leadership and prestige of the faculty in the various engineering fields, pointing out that they discussed future cooperation opportunities, especially, for the merger initiative.
For her part, Roula Droubi, Regional head of Corporate, Industrial, and Social Relations in the Middle East and North Africa, presented Boeing’s key business activities and interests in the Middle East and its plans to support innovation and equip students for the job market, entrepreneurship and research in all areas of technology.
