The Agricultural Bank of Egypt (ABE) signed a cooperation protocol with the Bashaier Agricultural Marketing and Extension Network on the Mobile and Internet.
The Vice President of the ABE for the business sector Tamer Gomaa believes this protocol will allow for cooperation between both parties to implement activity marketing packages serving the agricultural community, by putting the funding programmes of the ABE on Bashaier—an agribusiness platform in Egypt and fruits and vegetables network—through designing direct communication mechanisms via the network and the bank.
He added that the protocol includes introducing ABE’s clients to the services of the digital agricultural marketing and guidance on Bashaier’s network and enabling clients to add financing programmes for marketing activities, as well as to fund emerging projects in agriculture, and the agro-industrialisation sector.
The Bashaier network establishes and manages agricultural marketing networks, using mobile phone applications and an online portal, as well as applying value chains to directly connect small farmers and their markets.
The network provides technical and marketing information to serve small farmers; help develop agricultural projects and market their products; link basic economic objectives, and develop the community through economic information systems.
